About us

Hey there, we’re Sour & Salt, a dynamic duo fuelled by a shared love for sourdough and a zest for life’s adventures. As husband and wife, parents to 3 little munchkins, our journey has taken us far and wide, weaving through the vibrant streets of Europe, Japan and Thailand and the picturesque landscapes of Western Canada.
It was amidst our travels, soaking in the rich tapestry of cultures and flavours, that our passion for traditional sourdough ignited. From the cobblestone alleys of Paris to the bustling markets of Vancouver, we were captivated by the magic of artisanal bread-making and the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked loaves.
Driven by our desire to bring a slice of that experience back home, we embarked on a delicious adventure, honing our craft and perfecting our recipes. With every loaf we bake, we pour our hearts into preserving the time-honoured tradition of fermented sourdough, using only the finest ingredients and time-tested techniques. It’s our way of sharing the love, flavour, and joy that first inspired us on our sourdough journey.
